Bariatric describes the medical treatment of serious overweight—that is, obesity. Autumn Aged Care has experienced a significant increase in demand for bariatric care services. To reflect this, we have invested in specialised leading-edge equipment to aid in care provision to bariatric residents.

We have dedicated bariatric suites in each home catering for the needs of bariatric residents. The installation of in-ceiling lifting rails and hoists provides complete room coverage which enables the seamless transfer of residents from bed to the bathroom and all points in between. To further assist in bariatric care services we have also installed mechanical turning aids to help with circulation. This ensures staff can safely support the personal care requirements, hygiene and skin integrity requirements for all bariatric residents.
